Tantalus, 2008
Tantalus is a 10 foot tall 24 foot diameter Stroboscopic Zoetrope, surrounded by a white picket fence and four railway hand pumps that drive the piece. It resembles Uncle Sam’s hat with 20 vertical red and white stripes. The three foot blue brim of the hat serves as the blue depths from which 20 agonizing bodies will forever be grasping for the golden apples.
